HCII 2011: Advance Program

HCI International 2011 Conference is organized under the auspices of 12 distinguished international boards comprising 302 board members from 34 countries

The detailed Advance Program of HCI International 2011 is now available through the Conference website at: http://www.hcii2011.org/index.php?module=webpage&id=68

The Conference program includes:

  • Twenty three full- and half-day Tutorials that will run from Saturday 9 July to Monday 11 July 2011. Registration for the Tutorials is available through the Conference Management System (CMS). For information about registration, please visit: http://www.hcii2011.org/index.php?module=webpage&id=29

  • An opening plenary session, followed by a gala dinner in the afternoon of Monday 11 July 2011.
    During the opening session, fourteen awards will be conferred. A plaque and a certificate will be given to the best paper of each of the twelve Affiliated Conferences / Thematic Areas. Among these twelve papers, one will be selected to receive the golden award as the Best HCII 2011 Conference paper. Finally, the Best Poster extended abstract will also receive a plaque and a certificate.
    The title of his keynote address by Prof. Ben Shneiderman is "Technology-Mediated Social Participation: The Next 25 Years of HCI Challenges"

  • 220 parallel sessions including presentations of papers of over 3800 authors from 70 countries will run from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 July 2011.

HCII 2011: Reminder: Camera-ready extended poster abstracts submission - Deadline 25 March 2011

The extended abstracts of the posters accepted for presentation at HCI International 2011 will be published by Springer as part of the Conference Proceedings in the "Communications in Computer and Information Science" (CCIS) series. They will be available on-line through the SpringerLink Digital Library, readily accessible by all subscribing libraries around the world. All Conference participants will receive in their registration bags the Conference Proceedings in DVD format.

All extended abstracts of posters, which must be as a minimum 4 pages long and as a maximum 5 pages, prepared in the form of a self-contained short research paper, according to the Springer manuscript guidelines, should be submitted by Friday, 25 March 2011 at the latest. In preparing it, authors should follow the formatting guidelines that are available through the Conference website at: http://www.hcii2011.org/index.php?module=webpage&id=41

IMPORTANT NOTE: Inclusion of extended poster abstracts in the Proceedings is conditional upon registration of at least one author per poster by 25 March 2011.

HCII 2011: Accommodation

The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Orlando's newest AAA 4-Diamond hotel, is recommended as the main hotel of the Conference, offering 1,000 guest rooms and suites. Adjacent to Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is Waldorf Astoria® Orlando.

A number of rooms have been reserved to be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and reduced rates starting from US $149 per night (not including breakfast, taxes, gratuities or incidental charges) have been agreed with the Hotel. These rates are valid for all Conference participants for the duration of the Conference as well as for 3 additional days, before and / or after the Conference, based on availability. Please also note that, there is a cut off for reservations thirty days before the Conference. Any requests after that time will be placed on a space available basis.
